Bethania station precinct

The Bethania station precinct is being upgraded to improve accessibility, safety, and customer experience.

As part of the tender process for the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGC) package, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) asked proponents to innovate and consider options to address prior community feedback. As a result, TMR has adopted a design that elevates Bethania station above Station Road and removes the need for a road-over-rail bridge.

This updated design significantly reduces impacts on important community facilities, nearby properties and Station Road, and provides easier access for everyone across the rail corridor.

Bethania station upgrade

The Bethania station upgrade is being delivered as part of the LGC Rail package. The scope of works for the LGC Rail package will double the tracks from two to four between Kuraby and Beenleigh, deliver modern and accessible stations, remove level crossings, improve park 'n' ride facilities, and improve access and connectivity along the complex 20-kilometre project corridor.

Key design features

  • Connectivity and accessibility

    • Improved cross-corridor community connectivity to important local facilities, including Bethania Waters Shopping Centre, Noffke Park, and Bethania Community and Aquatic Centres.
    • Improved connections to the station including signalised pedestrian crossing on Station Road.

  • Local roads and traffic conditions

    • Elevated station eliminates the Station Road level crossing at Bethania.
    • Local road network remains largely unchanged.
    • Retained cross corridor emergency access from Radke Road during flood events.

  • Community amenity

    • Significantly reduced impacts to Noffke Park facilities, including Bethania community and aquatic centres.
    • Elevated station over Station Road:
      • provides new civic space opportunities.
      • supports precinct development.
