Kuraby station precinct

The Kuraby station precinct is being upgraded as part of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project to improve accessibility, safety and customer experience.

The level crossing at Beenleigh Road, Kuraby is the first of five level crossings being removed between Kuraby and Beenleigh as part of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGC) project to help improve safety, reduce congestion, and improve cross-corridor connections for local communities.

Beenleigh Road, Kuraby level crossing removal

The removal of the Beenleigh Road level crossing is being delivered by Bielby Hull Joint Venture, as part of the Open Level Crossing Removal (OLCR) package. The proposed solution builds on the previous refined reference design to provide a new road-over-rail bridge and improve local walkability and access across the rail corridor.

The new bridge will provide a connection to the upgraded Kuraby station and park ‘n’ ride, as well as to existing community facilities in the area such as Wally Tate Park and Kuraby Mosque. Pedestrian paths will also be included on both sides of the bridge to allow people to safely walk and ride along this section of Beenleigh Road.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the updated Kuraby level crossing removal design in September and October 2025. A summary of the engagement outcomes and how feedback has informed the project will be shared with the broader community later this year.

Kuraby station and track works

The Kuraby station upgrade is being delivered as a separate package of works, which includes all major rail works along the 20ikm project corridor.

The LGC Rail Alliance (comprised of the ActivUs consortium, TMR and Queensland Rail) has now commenced the design development, further construction planning activities and additional site investigations.

Drop-in information sessions are being hosted to provide an opportunity to ask questions and speak to our team, one-on-one.
