Consultation open – rail stations and precincts
The Wave – Stage 1 (Beerwah to Caloundra) delivery partners are developing the detailed design for the new rail line and stations.
The Sunshine Coast community is invited to provide feedback on station design elements such as material types, colours, street furniture and opportunities for public art.
Please note that options presented in the below survey questions are subject to planning and consultation with Queensland Rail, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Sunshine Coast Council and First Nations people (Traditional Owners) to ensure that respective standards and requirements are met.
Please provide your feedback by Monday 14 September 2026.
The survey questions and artist's impressions reflect the current design stage and are provided to help guide community feedback. Designs will continue to be refined as planning progresses and community feedback is considered.
While the station designs delivered as part of Stage 2 at Aroona and Birtinya are not as advanced, we welcome any initial community feedback for the contractors to incorporate into their designs. Further consultation on Stage 2 station precincts will occur in early 2027.
