Project overview
Visit the project webpage to find out more about the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project
To support the growing population and rail patronage demand between Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast, the Australian and Queensland governments are doubling the rail lines and increasing service capacity between Kuraby and Beenleigh stations.
The Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project will improve train station accessibility by upgrading stations, removing level crossings and improving connections to the surrounding communities, including upgraded park 'n' ride spaces, kiss 'n' ride areas and active transport facilities.
Better, safer and more accessible connections by rail, road and active transport will enable easier access to workplaces, study, essential services, recreation and cultural experiences, contributing to the liveability and economic prosperity of communities along the Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines.

Understand resources and services available to support small business operations
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is progressing through procurement activities to appoint contractors to deliver the LGC (including Loganlea Station Relocation) project. On March 22, 2024, the shortlisted proponents for the three individual packages of works were announced:
LGC Rail package: ActivUs consortium (consisting of CPB Contractors, Acciona Contractors, UGL Engineering, SMEC Australia and WSP Australia) and Activate consortium (consisting of John Holland Queensland, Aurecon Australasia and AECOM Australia)
LGC Open Level Crossing Removal package: two joint ventures Beilby Holdings with JF Hull Holdings, and BMD Constructions with Fulton Hogan Construction
Loganlea Station Relocation project: ADCO Construction, DT Infrastructure and the joint venture of Martinus Rail and Degnan
While TMR are unable to provide the contact details of the shortlisted proponents, interested suppliers are welcome to contact these organisations directly to explore potential collaboration opportunities. TMR expects to appoint the successful contractors later this year.
The LGC project would like to engage with businesses to understand operational requirements that may impact how your business is impacted by the project. Please visit and complete our business survey here which will inform future planning and construction activities.
During construction, it is anticipated there would be additional workers in the immediate area, which may translate to an increase in customers/visitors during construction, and foot traffic.
TMR started the procurement process in late 2023 and is continuing to deliver activities to appoint construction contractors for both the LGC and Loganlea Station Relocation projects in 2024.
Construction timeframes will be confirmed once contractors have been appointed.
We will keep the community informed about key project timeframes as they are confirmed.
