Overview

We're committed to ensuring that public transport meets the needs of local communities across Queensland.

To support Gympie's growing population, we've been working to create a bus network that delivers more local services, improves access to public transport, and strengthens connections to key hubs and destinations.

As part of this process, we invited community feedback on our proposed changes to the Gympie bus network during a consultation period held from 3 February to 2 March 2025.

We're now ready to present the outcome of the consultation and direction of the upcoming service change.

About the proposed changes

All Translink services in Gympie will be updated as part of the new bus network.

Key benefits include:

  • new and updated routes to improve services and reach more places, particularly high growth areas such as Southside and Gympie North
  • more services in Gympie Central
  • new Saturday services and extended bus operating hours
  • more travel options to reach key destinations
  • more frequent services and reliable timetables
  • fewer overlapping services, with resources reinvested where buses are needed more.
