Future stages: Loganholme to Coomera
With the southern section of the Coomera Connector between Coomera and Nerang being identified as the stage that needs to be built first, the Loganholme to Coomera section will be considered as future stages. No timeframes have been identified for the progression of the future stages.
The northern section of the Coomera Connector includes provision for a local road connection from the Coomera Connector at Eagleby to the intersection of Mount Cotton Road and Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road at Carbrook.
Community consultation on the Coomera Connector was held between 8 November and 8 December 2019.
While 67% of residents and businesses surveyed from the 4207 postcode (Eagleby, Alberton and Stapylton area) support the Coomera Connector and only 11% are not supportive, some concerns were raised about the alignment of the Coomera Connector in the Eagleby area.
Consideration of alternative alignments near Eagleby
Based on community feedback, TMR is currently undertaking an assessment of 6 alternative alignments put forward by the community to consider the merits of each based on traffic modelling outcomes, social impact (including property resumptions), environmental impact and cost.
As part of this assessment, independent experts have been appointed to undertake a review of the Eagleby Wetlands.
Prior to making any decisions about the northern section of the Coomera Connector, TMR will consult with the community about the outcomes of the reviews that are currently being undertaken.
