We are seeking feedback on a preferred option for future staged upgrades to the Bruce Highway between Anzac Avenue and Caboolture-Bribie Island Road. The recommended upgrades will relieve congestion, improve travel times and road safety, and build capacity to accommodate continued growth in one of the fastest growing regions in south-east Queensland.

Key features:

  • using the existing median to add an extra northbound and southbound lane between Anzac Avenue and Uhlmann Road, increasing lanes from three to four in each direction
  • constructing multi-lane, one-way collector-distributor roads on both sides of the Bruce Highway between Uhlmann Road and Caboolture-Bribie Island Road to improve capacity and reliability
  • collector-distributor roads will enhance highway operation by removing traffic undertaking local or short distance trips from the highway and improving safety by reducing the need for lane changes to merge or weave through highway traffic
  • upgraded Uhlmann Road, Buchanan Road and Caboolture-Bribie Island Road interchanges
  • new bridges over the Caboolture River and Burpengary Creek
  • replacement of the Potassium Street/Frawley Avenue and Arthur Drewett Drive bridges over the Bruce Highway.
